The French Press - Lafayette

We spent the night in Lafayette on route to New Orleans and had read about a place that does a good, local breakfast. Maria had a hankering for some pancakes so we made our way the The French Press.

The menu looked good, and we were a little bit spoilt for choice. Anthony decided to have 'Sweet baby beeesus' this was 3 buttermilk biscuit sliders with bacon, fried boudin balls and steen's cane syrup. served with breakfast potatoes. All I could say is awesome. The boudin balls are deep friend cajan spiced pork, then add bacon and a sweet sweet sauce inside a fluffy biscuit and you have heaven. The breakfast potatoes were lacking in flavour compared to the sliders, and felt like they were not really needed. I would not order them again.

Maria ordered pancakes, but didn't know weather to go for banana or blueberry. Anthony suggested going for blueberry as banana pancakes were a little more indonesian then american. He may have chose wrong. The pancakes themselves were really good, but the blueberries were just too sour to be used for a breakfast. The cane syrup, which was in both meals was fantastic.
