It is the 4th July, and as expected on a public holiday, alot of places are closed. Our host explained to us that there is a grocery story on the corner that has surprisingly good hot sandwiches, so we went to investigate.
We had been in NOLA for a couple of days and have yet to have a po boy, so this seemed as good a time as any. We were surprised at the size and feel of the sandwiches. It looks like a french baton, but it was much softer bread, and they don't seem to toast it as far as you would expect, they simply warm it through and squish it a little.
Anthony ordered a hot sausage, which we could work out if it was 'temperature' hot or 'spicy' hot. It was definitely warm when he got it and there was a hint of spice. It was quite tasty, with little bits of salad thrown in for good measure and the sauce was great.

Maria ordered a ham and cheese which she thought was yummy, but commented that there was too much ham and it was just too big.
