We arrived at Nashville at around lunchtime, and so headed out for what we like to call 'Dunch'. We knew we were off to the Opry this evening and so had to find something to sustain us until at least 9pm. We chose Puckett's because we had heard it was good - and it was close to where the bus into town dropped us.
When we got in, the smell of BBQ was a little overpowering, but we broke though it and managed to sit down. We looked at the menu and were spoilt for choice, lots of fried, BBq'd and grilled stuff to sink our teeth into. Maria chose the grilled chicken sandwich with a side order of fried okra ($7.99). She thought the sandwich was good. The chargrilled chicken breast was juicy and tender and the ocra was tasty but could have done with being a bit crispier.
Anthony ordered the BBQ pulled pork sliders with sweet potato fries and slaw ($7.99). The sliders were awesome, especially when dipped in their home made spicy BBq sauce. the pulled pork was tender and the bread was light and fell to pieces in your mouth. The sweet potato fries were very more-ish and he had to keep stopping Maria from taking them. The slaw was quite acidic, and the addition of apple was unnecessary. It didn't get eaten. Anthony also ordered some onion rings ($3.49) as he hadn't had them in ages. These were standard and tasted like they came from a UK Burger King.
