I noticed the other day a little coffee shop that appeared on the main street just up from fountain square near the Economic University. When walking past today, suffering from lack of breakfast, we stopped for a coffee and croissant. Taste test it is then...
So, let's start with the coffee. I'm not a fan of Baku roasting or Gloria Jeans. Even in the UK I would opt for the independent places. (Vietnamese if possible) so seeing a little hole in the wall in Baku intruiged me. I ordered an Americano. The beans were from Coffee Planet and the server seemed to know how to operate the machinery. The coffee was good, better then you usually find in Baku and quite cheap at 1.50azn for a medium cup.
On to the croissant. It looked better than it tasted. A little stodgy but still buttery. It was crisp when he put it into the bag and you could see the layers. It filled a hole, I wouldn't order again though. Thre were a variety of other pastries that I might try. The ice cream was cheap at 60q too.
It seems I'm on a little mission to try all the croissants in the land. If you see anymore that I can try. Please let me know.
