Casual Brasserie - Off Fountain Square

While still making our way through the list, we ended up (after all the house work was done) having a very late lunch at Casual Brasserie.

We didn't know what to expect as we hadn't seen the menu but we had walked past it a few times. As we walked in we were instantly transported to any number of Strada's or Cafe Rouge's back in the UK. It was calm, nice music playing in the background and we even got a bread starter - WITH OLIVE OIL AND BALSAMIC VINEGAR! (However, I did have to request a small bowl to put them into)

We ordered a Casual Burger (11AZN) and a Halloumi Salad (10AZN). The burger was not bad, although it was more cooked then I would have liked. I think the chips were from frozen but were crispy on the outside and the meat tasted local.

The Halloumi Salad was better. The Halloumi was probably the best we have eaten in ages and the salad was nearly crispy.

This along with two drinks came to 30AZN which was good for what we had and the service could not have been better. A word of warning - if you put your fork down your plate will be removed! It was a good Dunch (dinner/lunch) and we will go back again if we don't find a better burger!
