Tim Ho Wan - Hong Kong

When you think of a Michelin Star meal, a railway station is not the first thought that comes to your mind. However, on our 7 hour layover in Hong Kong we managed to find Tim Ho Wan in Hong Kong Central Station.

We knew we were at the right place, people queuing up at the door and all around the hallway. Anthony attempted to ask for a table, but with the amount of people around him he decided that it was going to be take-away. We were given a card with the menu written on it and we had to mark down what we wanted. We set up camp next to a closed shop, popped to 7/11 for some soft drinks and waited till our number was called.

First up were Anthony's favorite - sweet BBQ pork bun. The pastry was crunchy on the outside, but melted away quickly to revel the sweet BBQ pork inside. Unfortunatly, Maria wasn't a fan of this dish so Anthony had to eat them all by himself.

Next we had an average tasting selection of Dim Sum; Pork pancakes, dumplings and buns, all of which were fine, but not what you would expect from somewhere that had a Michelin star.

Overall, we were not too impressed with the taste of the Dim Sum. After living in Baku where everything is quite bland, to come to Hong Kong and find the same is a bit disappointing  The main highlight (for Anthony) were the awesome BBQ pork buns, which more more like dessert than lunch.

We spent less than £10 @
