Beyrut - Off Fountain Square

Well, we are back in the world of Baku after our Vietnam Holiday. After we realised that we saw more of Hanoi in three days that we have of Baku in 6 months, we are trying to explore a few more restaurants. Our first stop on my Baku treats list if Beyrut.

Beyrut was suggested to us by one of our colleagues. It is a Lebanese restaurant just off fountain square and since we have been sampling some Lebanese grub from one of our teaching buddies we decided to give it a try. There was a set menu for around 20AZN but we thought we could do better.
We started by ordering a few Meze items; moussaka, hummus  breads, aubergine dips and tomato bits. These were all very good, and the spicy chili bread was also very good.

Next up were some hot bits, dumplings full cheese or beef. these were very tender, juicy and crispy on the outside.

After the starters we were contemplating for a while if we actually wanted more. OF COURSE WE DID. We got a couple of kebabs to tie us over for the evening. Although they were advertised as 200g, there was no way they were more than 50g each, but they were still tasty.

All in all this was quite a good meal. (with great company of course) We didn't spend more than 15AZN PP including beers for the meal so it was quite reasonable  We might return again but not until the meat is 'as advertised'.
