Our Monkey Shoulder tour started at Selfridges. We discovered that they were doing free Whiskey tasting so we tried some. The shot of Whiskey was accompanied by a Niko B chocolate which was stunning. We then sampled a Whiskey cocktail and was told to make our way to Broadwick Street near Carnaby Street for the Easter Egg Trail.
When we walked in, we were presented with yet another shot of whiskey (Our third free one already) and was told to search for an egg hidden in the shelves below. Finding an egg was the easy part, deciding which cocktail to try was the difficult.
M asked for the Ginger Monkey with burnt caramel and lemon chocolate, A went for the Monkey Jam Sour with Masala Chai chocolate truffle. A chose better, with a cocktail that was sweet and delicate and a chocolate that had a crunch, but was ridiculousness smooth inside. All in all, Monkey Shoulder is an excellent Whiskey to make a cocktail out of, and might be one of our new favorites (along with Dalwhinney and Four Roses).
FYI - A asked if we could go round again... without a hesitation they agreed. After four shots, we decided it was time for a slow walk home.
