Roti Chai - London

After somehow staying dry during a short trip out in London, we decided to finally give Roti Chai a try. We were unsure about spending money since we already have an awesome Indian Dhaba near us, but the menu (and our stomachs) drew us in.

We opted for the street kitchen rather than the dining level as we wanted a more tapas meal and were really glad we did. We ordered a Lychee Teapot Martini to share and started to think about what we wanted.

We started with Papri Chaat - wheat crisps, potato chickpeas and yoghurt. It was so smooth and the crunch of the crisps at the bottom were a pleasant surprise. Next, out came Chicken Lollipops, a reminder of the fried chicken from Thailand, which were succulent and crispy. After this we had the Hakka Chilli Paneer, an Indo-Chinese spiced dish which was nearly too hot but still very tasty. Lastly we had a choice of breads and chutneys, which were a fantastic addition to our dishes. If hungry after a trip to Oxford Street we would definitely have to visit here again, especially since it's on our way to the bus.
