Tucked away behind, no sorry, through a bar on E 6th street is the Liberty food truck. We had read that they served some awesome food so we took a drive down to see what we could have.
We knew what to expect due to the photos on the website, and we had a good idea about what we wanted to order. We went for two types of bun, pork and curried, and finished off with some beets.
The pork bun was great. Just a simple slice of pork between this incredibly soft dough with a spicy, creamy hoi sin sauce ($7)
Anthony really enjoyed the curried bun. ($4) this bun was differs as it had been fried and so was really crunchy as well as soft on the inside. The curry taste was really mild but tasted fantastic with the splash of peanut butter.
Finally, we had the beet chips. ($7) They were perfectly cooked, just slightly crunchy, and served with a creamy kewpie mayo. Although they were far too hot to eat when they first arrived. They didn't last long when they had cooled down.
All in all, for a food truck sitting in the back of a pubs garden, the food they sold was fantastic and pretty cheep. They would have went perfectly with a glass or two of cold beer. I would recommend a Shiner.
