Patisserie Taste Test - Entree

Entree is the new kid on the block in Baku. The chain has moved over from Tbilisi, Georgia and has opened three cafe's at once. I popped into the one closest where I live to see what all the fuss is about. Time for another patisserie taste test!

Dalloyau and Paul's are now established in Baku and we have already discussed the differences between them. So now we get to compare Entree's croissant and pain au chocolate.

First of all the price. Croissant 1.50AZN and pain au chocolate 1.20AZN. The croissant is in line with the others, the pain au chocolate slightly cheaper.

The croissant looked and felt good on the outside. however there was a lack of crunch and it felt like they might have been a little more commercially made. It was buttery and well baked, but lacking in layers. Dalloyau wins this round.

The pain au chocolate was very generous with the chocolate - more so than the others, but this didn't make up for a lack of flavour, crunch or the overly stodgy texture. Paul wins out for us.

Entree need to up their game to compete with the other patisseries in Baku, but they have only just opened and we may have caught them at a bad time. Entree is, however, more convenient with 3 locations across Baku.
