Brunch at the Marriott - Baku

Anywhere you can go and sit for 4 hours, with friends, and eat until you are stuffed is good by me. We have had a couple of brunches in Baku but our favourite by far has been at the Fireworks restaurant at the Marriott Hotel.

We went for a friends birthday and rocked up around 10ish. We had the luxury of 4 glorious hours of eating, and the selection was quite large. We opted for the sparkling breakfast (25AZN) which was cheaper than other sparkling breakfasts at the time. However, since I was driving and Maria was pregnant, both our 'sparklies' went to other members of our party.

As I mentioned before, the selection at the Marriott was quite large. There were dedicated displays of meat and cheese, a large Azerbaijani cuisine, american style food platters, random eggs, sausages and curries, and a dessert table with pastries and cakes.

I started with an odd selection of Azeri dips, salads and meats along with a nice lavash. Everything I choose tasted really good, even if they may not have been the right choice for me.

Next, I had a strange combination of omelette cooked in front of me, Azeri plov, and some kind of fish pie. Again, everything was well cooked and seemed like it was made with care.

We also ordered somethings off the menu. The Waffles you can see at the top of the post did take a while to come, but baring in mind maple syrup costs a fortune to buy in Baku, they were very generous with the portion.

Maria ordered American pancakes. Again they took a while, but if you get hungry while waiting you can go and find something else. They were light and fluffy, and the range of jams available was very good.

All this came with free water and coffee which is definatly a bonus.
